Kirby Cook of Winthrop started in mid-May as a legislative intern. As part of his internship, he will spend about six weeks in the Washington, D.C., office of U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), then will wrap up the summer helping with Iowa Pork Tent preparations and operations for the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines in August.
