The information in the chapters of this handbook is based on laws and regulations in effect at the time of publication. Producers are advised to stay informed of changes in these laws and to contact IPPA for further information.

NOTE: EXPLANATION OF NOTE BOXES - Shaded boxes with a double line border are note boxes. They contain information that explains how the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is currently interpreting a rule or give the reader helpful hints on a particular subject. The explanations in the note boxes are not contained in the current rules but will help the reader understand a rule.

NOTE: EXPLANATION OF EXAMPLE BOXES - Dotted line boxes that are not shaded give examples of the rules in action. They include calculations or the application of a DNR rule.
